I'm a mom of two kids, both of which love the movie Shrek. When I heard there was a live performance coming to the Milwaukee area, I thought it would be a great opportunity to enjoy anew aspect of one of our favorite movies. I called the box office to gather more info since the website was unclear and since this was a first in Milwaukee for this performance. I was clear that my children were young and was reassured that the show was focused around young kids. To my surprise, the performance used more adult humor then the movie and did not focus on young children. Unfortunately, I was not the only parent with this intention. There were other families in attendance with young kids and they became restless half way through the show. The show was good, but not worth the $46 that I had to pay for our family of 4. For this price, I would have thought we would get to meet the performers in person before or after the show for pics. I'll avoid this the next time and spread the word that it's NOT child friendly. This might be a lesson for the theatre to address with staff who deal with calling consumers.
